Beloved Flower Lover,
As girls flower into woman hood one thing sometimes has a negative association. It’s her own lady garden. Some see it as dreadful, scary, even dirty. Some see it as joyful and a place of great sensual joy. The seat of creativity and all things pleasurable. Some just don’t even want to comment.
Dr Catherine Blackledge who has been exploring female fertility teaches us that there is a word – verenda – that girls and women can use with a sense of confidence as it solely focused on respecting the gift of the ladies lady garden
Blackledge research has uncovered the true meaning of the word Verenda, which is a word for human female genitalia from years ago; it’s the Latin version of a Greek word and it means,
‘the parts that inspire awe, respect or reverence’.
Verenda to us, points us in a new direction of self empowerment. It points us in the direction where we can welcome the capacity, the potency, the vitality, the opportunity , as it uses us to fulfil itself, to come from a lady garden full of petals that ‘inspire awe, respect, or reverence’.
What a wonderful word for our womanhood – after all, a woman’s verenda is the source of new life in the world. That is something to inspire awe, respect and reverence.
If you want to know more about this word, and how to use it to empower you, girls and anyone else you know that has a lady garden, sign up to Catherine’s petition which she has set up to welcome us all to empower respect, and inspire all those with a lady garden, and for those who love the lady garden. www.change.org/SayVerenda
