One Londoner’s question about the Grooms Button Hole

Beloved Flower Lover,

I live in London, am getting married and I have a question.

Q: Do I need to pick my suit before I choose my buttonhole?

Ans:  First congratulations for your upcoming nuptials. And we say this. Sort the suit first, then the buttonhole. OK. Although your buttonhole is a wonderful statement, your suit is the most important commitment of the two – you’ve got to feel comfortable with what you’re wearing. Yes, be aware of the colour and and pattern of your suit. Yes, have your buttonhole in mind when choosing this, but focus on the suit first. Yes, a striped suit looks better with a simple buttonhole, and a navy suit may be perfect with a brightly coloured button hole for contrast, but really at this stage, focus on the fit of the suit.

And on another beat, always remember why you are getting married. That is the real heart of the matter. Why is it important to you? You don’t have to do this.  Is it a good marriage or a delicious marriag? just by add those two words together. A ‘good, delicious’ marriage, creates your powerful focus. Now, you bring that statement to the florist and she will be able to capture that big ‘why’ into your design. She can then be able to show you what your buttonhole will look like and maybe even provide a colour reference to help you.

Again congratulations to you, Mr.Londoner and your lovely bride!
