We keep our minds open and remove all pre-concieved ideas about the season, especially as our research shows that Easter is a Christian holiday and on Easter Sunday, Christians celebrate the resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. It is typically the most well-attended Sunday service of the year for Christian churches.
We keep our minds open, let go of ideas of lack of money, resources, etc and just imagine nothingness instead. While we do that we begin to imagine the central theme behind this holiday. What is it’s guiding purpose?
In Western Christianity, Easter is always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following thePaschal Full Moon. In the past, “Easter was always celebrated on the Sunday immediately following the first full moon after the vernal (spring) equinox.” This statement was true prior to 325 AD; however, over the course of history (beginning in 325 AD with the Council of Nicea), the Western Church decided to established a more standardized system for determining the date of Easter.
Christians believe, according to Scripture, that Jesus came back to life, or was raised from the dead, three days after his death on the cross. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated on Good Friday, always the Friday just before Easter. He became Christ on the third day. Easter is thus a renewal time over three key days.
This renewal maybe the guiding purpose that you might like to draw from or find your own reason for enjoying Easter. Whatever you choose, there are so many ways to renew yourself. What might be yours?
In the spirit of renewal we offer a gentle invitation. We invite you to renew your own mind this Easter, as we are to do for ourselves. We offer these useful videos which teach us about how to use our brain to have a renewed life.
We always offer flowers as a way to enhance our surroundings to connect to the beauty of nature, our own natures and to be empowered by that.
