Wedding flowers on a budget

Beloved Flower Lover

You can make your money go further and spend where it counts.

First, cut back on flowers for the bridal party.  Have just have a buttonhole for the groom and bouquet for the bride. If you want your bridesmaids to carry flowers, let them carry single stems of rose or gerbera rather than formal bouquets. A great saving already.

Many couples use the flowers for the actual ceremony again, by moving them into the reception space. Another saving.

For the reception, go for  couple of very large bold arrangements in prominent places, using structured blooms like birds of paradise or anthuriums with large tropical leaves. Spend your money on the Bridal bouquet since it will be in all photographs.

Table decorations can be really simple too. Maybe a few stems in bud vases will make your ‘venue of love’ feel dressed. We suggest that you stick to one colour as it will stand out in guests minds. And smile. That’s your free investment in your inner world. Your dazzling enjoyment of your precious nuptials

p.s. Maybe be open to the using  of fruit in arrangements. Why? because there is no VAT so it maybe another option

  2. Ah, makes me think of the famous saying “Writing is an adventure. To begin with, it is a toy and an amusement. Then it becomes a mistress, then it becomes a master, then it becomes a tyrant. The last phase is that just as you are about to be reconciled to your servitude, you kill the monster and fling him to the public.” – Winston Churchill
