Beloved Flower Lover,
Men, women, we so notice your talents, and just want to thank you for reading this blog and giving us feedback. Yeah…. We thought about this… the Giver archetype is elevated and celebrated in our culture while the Receiver is almost wholly unknown. You have undoubtedly heard the phrase, “It is better to give than receive.” And while giving is important and should be encouraged, the reality is that every giver has a recipient. We can’t be the giver all of the time, for it is necessary and natural to receive as well as to give.
Yesterday, a client really got one of our team into a tizzy. She was upset, he critised her design and wanted a new version by the time of his arrival. In two hours time. Her designs, always innovative and amazing seemed to go dull as she tried to go safe with the design. Then a friend of her’s called and guess what, rather than give advice and help like she always does, she stopped, whispered that she needed help and was open to the help of her friend who guided her into calming down, and in fact welcoming the gift in what the male client was saying. She even allowed herself to recall all her previous brilliantly stunnng designs. As she listened, she softened, breathed out deeply, calmed down deeply, got really quiet, even to a point of silence and before the end of the chat, knew exactly what she could do and executed another of her simply fabulous and beautiful designs.
That was a real powerful example for us. She is such an example of some of us in our team. really good at giving and now it was her turn to recieve help. To open up, to recieve and she did.
Recieving flowers from yourself is a powerful mindset, just welcoming that idea opens you up to allowing more beauty, joy, happiness and pleasure into your life. It welcomes so much more into your life. Just notice what that all says to you, and notice what you will allow yourself to recieve today. It will probably open up other stimulating ideas for you.
